New OPC nr Chester

DBA

Just got myself a new job, and found that they are opening a new OPC just a stones throw away (I can see it from my Window [:D]). It is near the Blue Planet Aquarium/Cheshire Oaks Outlet Mall (J10 M53).
Does anyone know if they are having an opening evening?

Anthony

Lancs & Cumbria Region have organised a visit on Sunday 25th September, coupled to a visit to the Blue Planet Aquarium next door. Dean Easterby is organising this and would like names and numbers ASAP to enable us to get the entry discount to the aquarium. He can be contacted on 01772 613324 (H)

We will be leaving Charnock Richards Service Area, M6 at 10.30am to travel there

Opening early Sept, but most of the crew are swapping from L'pool

So same crap service.

Still waiting for sales to ring me back after the message i left at 1pm today []

Nowt changed since i dealt with them 13 months ago then [][]

I assume you've cleared this visit with the North West Region - or has Chester now moved into Lancashire[:D][:D][:D][;)]

Graham, there's no need to clear the visit with the NW Region, just courtesy to let them know in advance of the visit on 'their' area. I'm sure David will have done that.

Hee hee - So apart from the R18 Blue Planet Aquarium visit, the question still is - Is Chester OPC going to have an open day? When Wilmslow OPC had their re-vamp they combined it with the 997 launch. So will Chester do theirs to co-incide with Cayman launch perhaps?
Time will tell

Yep - they're still as abd as ever - left another message at noon today - receptionist promised i would get a call back sometime today.

Still waiting - wonder if they'll make it within 48 hours ??

Perhaps they don't need the business ?

Hi,

I have a purchases a number of cars from what was Road Range then Corkhills who are moving from Liverpool to the new sites near Cheshire OAks. I have been in touch and they are not planning an opening evening as such so I am told, but they are doing a special launch for the new Cayman.

I work on the business park so this is a great location for me for servicing etc although I do like the Service from Stratstone.

Cheers
Stefan

A friend of mine bought a lovely looking Tahoe Blue 964 C2 from Road Range a few years ago, to cut a long story short he cut his finger on a 2" piece of welding rod sticking up out of the engine bay where a new offside rear quarter had been welded on.
He did this while investigating the fact that after the service one of the spark plugs had been left out of the engine with the HT lead still attached and was sparking in the engine bay against any available earth point.
He took the car back and has never had a Porsche since.[:(]
Things do change though and I do hope the staff have more respect for their customers this time.

Well dragging up an old thread i know but my worst fears have come true....

Took the view of better the devil you know and placed my order for a 987S with Mann Island (now Chester) back in August in preference to Stratstones (equally bad at communicating at the time) on the basis of returning customer, customer relations etc etc

Supposed to collect car yesterday, but paperwork hadn't been sent from Reading to enable registration (despite car being at OPC since end of October - built early but an agreed delivery Jan).

All paperwork arirved with OPC today so i went to collect car tonight - pull into carpark to see salesguy polishing car in showroom. I can see from 50 yards away that the paintwork is a mess following about the worst valet you can imagine. Closer imspection shows swirl marks all over, ding in drivers door, scuffs in lacquer on boot spoiler and rear bumper. Not sure about the interior, i didn't bother looking that far.

So two cars 18 months apart, both late delivery, both dented on delivery and the latest with swirled paintwork.

I cannot believe how incompetent these buffoons are - the sales guy obviously wasn't happy with the valet and he still didn't call off the delivery.

Looking forward to long discussion with dealer principal tomorrow.

Oh David

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope you get things sorted out quickly and you can start to enjoy this car that you've been waitung for for so long.[:(][][:'(]

Maybe you should have told them not to valet it, I'm sure you would do a much better job yourself.

Nic

To bring the story to a conclusion - they valetted the car twice themselves on Wed morning, then called Lloyds bodyshop in. Car back in showroom on Thursday night, looked better but still marks all down passenger side, maybe from a badly used buffer.

Car rejected verbally, confirmed in writing Friday.

Contacted this morning to say all funds will be refunded in full. I obviosuly don't have a car, but at least the issue has been resolved very very quickly and they should be congratulated for that (so many other people have long drawn out battles with garages). So the world is my oyster at present, 30 OPCs all with showroom cars and demo's coming up for a change - too much choice !
