New or 2nd hand crank needed

I am starting to panic now, I have just stripped down the engine for the second time, the crank went the first time, I had it reground, and put it all back together, even had a page in the Porsche Post, got it running, and the crank has gone again. I have been told I need a new one, and that I should'nt have put the old one back in the first place. You live and learn. [&:]. So Does anyone out there know where I can get a good crank from? yours in hopeful anticipation. Scott-Llandudno.

Good grief! Whats wrong with your crank .....?? Thought crank should be tough and stand at least one major regrind .....

Hi Andrew, not sure what the problem was or is at the moment, according to sources, it was maybe the oil pump, or a faulty bearing shell, I have to find out, but we will, and we will get back on the road. Thanks for the post. Scott.

Hi Rob, Thank you very much for that contact, you hopfully have just saved me a load of dosh. I was getting quoted in this country £1300 - £1500 for a 2nd hand one. I have contacted them and placed a tentative order, so with luck I should get sorted. Thanks again.

Also - if you have a UK VAT number and forward it with the order - you then don't pay the 16% German VAT.

Hi Scott,
Sorry to read about your crank problems.
You probably know this but I just wanted to say that after a serious failure like this there could be a lot of metal particals in your oil ways, external pipework and oil coolers.
Any particals remaining in your system could cause problems later on, so I would make sure the external pipe work and oil coolers are cleaned out thoroughly. Also very important is the cleanliness of the oil tank. The high pressure pump on my 911SC engine draws oil from the tank and pumps it directly to the main bearings and big ends, this oil is not filtered before it is distributed to the vital parts,( this is probably the same on your engine) therefore if any particals remaining in the oil tank they could be pumped straight back into your engine.
Cheers
John
