Well its some months since I first posted on the 944 forum (being an SC owner) asking about which 944 to buy.

Having kept my eyes open since I have just bought an S2 coupe with 63k on the clock and a really good s/history and bills, Cobalt blue with blue leather int and a/c. Got Peter Morgan to inspect first and this confirmed my view of the car.

It needs new tyres so have been having a look at the tyre survey. I've got Yokos on the 911 so may stick to them. Otherwise I think Toyo.

Its going to be interesting comparing the 2 cars...

Belts and cams etc done 4 years/23k miles ago. I reckon I'll get them checked at next service (due 6000 miles) and prob replaced in a years time by which time I'll have put 10k on the mileage. Any contrary views?

See any of you at Brands Hatch at end August?

That's great news Sib - welcome aboard, I hope you enjoy the S2 as much as I do. Keep us posted re the Toyos because both my cars need new tyres soon and though I've always had Contis and had no problems I am hankering after a change (dunno why)

I'll be at Brands and I imagine most of the regulars here will be too. The 944 register 'inner sanctum' normally all camp and BBQ together in the campsite, very festive, very welcome to all and I HATE camping [:D] Hope to see you there or at the register gazebo

Sounds good.

I'd replace the belts now though - a good rule of thumb is 3 years or 36k and you really do not want the cam belt to break.
