New owner, and a stupid question

Well, after some hunting, I am now the proud owner of a 1987 silver (Zermatt silver, I think it's called) 944 Celebration Edition. I linked to the fleabay ad a couple of weeks ago, but I managed to get the seller down from £3200 to £2000 and my old Toyota Celica. The interior needs a bit of attention, but I have a signed agreement from him that if it turns out to have more problems then I can have my money back. I'll be taking it over to Shirleys in Meriden this week for a proper opinion, and run down of the (inevitable) faults.

Thus far, though, she's been wonderful. She starts fine (though there are a couple of winds before she catches) and drives beautifully. The chap who sold it to me (who specialises in Merc G class', but also does some classics work) may even have a source for the interior cloth, should I want to get it re-upholstered in the original cloth. I'm not sure whther I want to restore the seats to their original glory, or switch them out for a leather interior for her time with me...

I do have a stupid question though. How do I reset the trip? I can see it there, but have absolutely no idea where the button for it is. Tried all sorts of buttons and am stumped. It's no big thing, but it'd be nice to be able to do.

Anyway, here's a piccie:

Anyway, fingers crossed that all turns out ok, and hurrah for fun motoring!

This had me stuck when I got my S2!

Have a look at the central air vents on the dash. On the right, by the instrument binnacle is what looks like a thin vent separated from the others - in the middle of that (well hidden) is the button to reset the trip meter.

Don't push it whilst on the move - I've been told that's what causes the plastic gears to pop out (quite common).

That's a lovely looking car by the way - the same colour as mine!

Welcome aboard !

Took me four and a half years to figure out where the odometer reset button was. Should have just checked the handbook...[&:]

Hi,

Could you let me have the contact details of your seller - I am interested in finding the original cloth.
Many thanks.
