New owner needs advise on manuals and non-cracked dash

Hi

I've just got my hands on a nice porsche 924s 1987.

Two things.

I'd like advise on what are the best maintence manuals etc to get.

The dash board is uncracked and totally mint. How do i keep it this way.

Can you get covers for cracked ones that will protect it??

Does anyone have a photo of a 924 with a dash cover fitted? I've seen the covers for sale, but I have no idea what they look like in the car.

If you require specific information from the factory workshop manuals they acn be photo copied at Club Office.
If you live close enough I suggest that you attend an open day (first Sunday each month) and ask me to show you them and copy any that you need.

I believe the cracking occurs due to the natural process of solvents/oils in the plastic evaporating from the dashboard. They then become dry, hard and crack. This process is accelerated by exposure to the sun.

Renewing / replacing the solvent/oils in some way seems to be the best way to go. Whether the vinyl cleaners / polishes do the job , or even household furniture polish, I'm not sure. Perhaps someone else can provide a more specific remedy. ?
