New Owner Questions (Part 2)

Hi Everyone
Zymoled the car at the weekend, first time I' ve used their products, not completely convinced but the rain is certainly skidding off the paint work. The HD Clense was great on most of the body but didnt seem to be tough enough to get the dried on flies off. Now I' ve had a chance for a really close inspection, can anyone answer the following please?
I have a slight water leak in rear o/s footwell (damp carpet). It looks like its coming in down the window channel and through the door seal . Previous vehicles I' ve owned have a plastic membrane in the door - is the RS the same? Being a frustrated mechanic I' m very good at taking things apart, not brilliant at re-assembling them! Is it an easy job? (looks like some screws and the bolts on the door handle) Any advice before I ruin it!
Also my first Region 30 meeting tonight which I' m looking forward to, not sure how many over here are PCGB members.

You are supposed to wash the car first! [:D]

I can highly recommend claying the car to remove any of those tough to remove things.
You don' t have to use the horribly overpriced Zymol clay - if you can still get it you can buy a Halfords one for £6 for a huge block.

I can recommend the clay bar called Quik Clay Detailing from Meguiyers @ £11.99 http://www.meguiars.co.uk/ . This also comes packaged with the quick detailer which is basically a lubricant for the clay to glide on.
Worked wonders on my car

Timmy!! The car has to be SPOTLESS b4 u use HD cleanse. USe Autoglym tyre and rubber remover if u have to. Flies should wash off with warm soapy water, and then the clay, as Elliott says -superb stuff and worth the effort.

Doh!

Plus loads of advice on the Zymol site.

Timmy,
There is a plastic membrane behind the door trim (at least in mine there is). trim' s easy to remove- seem to remember a couple of push-in clips retain it near the top - just don' t go forcing anything!
