new owner & service recommendations

Hi

Just picked up a lhd 993 rs from H&S in black with yellow seat back and seat belts and want to get it serviced. I will post piccies ASAP.

Any recommendations in London. I am in SE9 but happy to travel for the right place who are honest/cost effective. Also what should I pay for a minor and major service? Brakes etc are all good so I am hoping it wont be too expensive. Have already been a bit a shocked at some of the parts prices (£50 for a window winder!, £150 for an interior door top)

First impressions are good, two questions - are the lsd's/gearboxes always a bit noisy (single mass flywheel) and the heating temp control seems to be have to turned quite high to get hot - is this normal?

Gear box /diff will sound like a bag of nails , on a clubsport without sound insulation of ANY SORT U MIGHT THINK THE DIFF WAS COMING THROUGH THE BACK OF UR NECK....................single mass flywheel adds to the cacophony .........its fine !

Jaz are great ,cos they currently have experience of 2 superb 993 cup cars loads of identical to urs kit , they also have a good relationship with H&S if u find anything u want to claim as warranty..................YES i am prejudiced i ve used them for all my 993 derivatives and always been very pleased.....................enjoy ur new toy

South of London, well south, you could try Carrera Performance near Horsham, Jez used to have a 993RS and fettles a few earlier race and rally cars.

JAZ is abt £60 per hr , wifes mini cooper [BMW] is £156 plus per hr , but u get a technician!!!!!!!!

For me, it would be either JAZ or GT-One in Chertsey, whichever was most convenient. Although I haven't used JAZ, people like Vic have had great service while GT-One used to look after my car and were top quality. I doubt there would be much between them in cost or quality so for me, GT-One was easier to get to.
