I've just bought a Carrera 2S that has Porsche warranty. What's the rules on exchanging the ownership of the warranty over ? There's a form in the back of the booklet but I've been told to check out the small print about cars being sold from dealers and not privately and possibility of voiding the warranty. I'm gonna pop and have a look at the car's documentation anyway but is anyone able to clarify ?

Well oviously the warranty covers the car its assigned to and therefore the corresponding owner of the vehicle. There has been recent changes made to the terms of official warranties which has been a hot topic of some lengthy discussions but as far as im concerned the car is covered under the terms of the warranty which is not affected by who owns the car. However, my understanding is that if u buy a car thats out of warranty then firstly u have have woned the car for a mininum of 3 months and the car will e suject to the usual 111 point check before it will get the warranty. Best to check this with OPC thou

Checked warranty, the previous owner has to sign that he's transferring it to me. He bought it last month, so happy days till next September.
Thats correct, the warranty is transferable to a new 'private' owner and as you say the form signs it across.
It is not transferable if trading in to a dealer, whether its an OPC or Iny..
