Last weekend I bought the Maritime Blue 3.6 Turbo which was being sold by Paragon.
I just thought I would introduce myself to the board, which I am sure will be a mine of useful information as I learn about this great car. I had given a lot of thought about what to buy and decided that this would be something very different (my other Porsches are NA), which looks absolutely stunning and would be a real challenge to drive well - and I enjoy that sort of challenge!
I confess that I fell in love with the colour immediately, and I have a good deal of faith in Paragon that this is a sound car (they even sell it with a full 12 month warranty).
To date I have only had the chance to drive it a couple of hundred miles, but a few things have become evident. I was aware before I bought it that it had lowered H&R springs all round. It is also on the original shocks. Whether it is the springs or the fact the original shocks are past their best, but the car rides too stiffy and I intend to replace the H&R springs, and original shocks, with KW Variant 3 coilovers, to be fitted by JZ Machtech, who did such great work on my GT3.
The engine feels very strong, and all the controls are just fantastic to use - just as a Porsche should be.
The exhaust is non standard - not too loud (I think it had a cat bypass; now the cat is back in play); but I will look into options.
But for now all I need to sort out is the suspension (JZ will set up the geometry as well) and then I look forward to enjoying many happy miles - I am definitely the sort of owner who drives his cars!
Kind regards
Steve
(BTW - although I post on Pistonheads, I am not the fellow who posted about buying this car. He decided to pull out from the deal and bought a Vanquish - a classy choice in its own right - instead.)
