Last weekend I bought the Maritime Blue 3.6 Turbo which was being sold by Paragon.

I just thought I would introduce myself to the board, which I am sure will be a mine of useful information as I learn about this great car. I had given a lot of thought about what to buy and decided that this would be something very different (my other Porsches are NA), which looks absolutely stunning and would be a real challenge to drive well - and I enjoy that sort of challenge!

I confess that I fell in love with the colour immediately, and I have a good deal of faith in Paragon that this is a sound car (they even sell it with a full 12 month warranty).

To date I have only had the chance to drive it a couple of hundred miles, but a few things have become evident. I was aware before I bought it that it had lowered H&R springs all round. It is also on the original shocks. Whether it is the springs or the fact the original shocks are past their best, but the car rides too stiffy and I intend to replace the H&R springs, and original shocks, with KW Variant 3 coilovers, to be fitted by JZ Machtech, who did such great work on my GT3.

The engine feels very strong, and all the controls are just fantastic to use - just as a Porsche should be.

The exhaust is non standard - not too loud (I think it had a cat bypass; now the cat is back in play); but I will look into options.

But for now all I need to sort out is the suspension (JZ will set up the geometry as well) and then I look forward to enjoying many happy miles - I am definitely the sort of owner who drives his cars!

Kind regards

Steve

(BTW - although I post on Pistonheads, I am not the fellow who posted about buying this car. He decided to pull out from the deal and bought a Vanquish - a classy choice in its own right - instead.)

Yes they are different colours.......993TT is in Riviera Blue.......but they are similarly yummy!!! ( which was my point!) ....and as you well know, not that popular (well mine isn't....being the only RHD TT in Riv....)

..Only the chocolate variety [&:] Anyway, mate, your 930 rebuild sounds to be coming along nicely. It'll only be...oohh [sucks through teeth] Spring before we can put your 'BlueFlash' against Simon's 'Blackbird' (i.e. K27HFS v K27/K29) and I'll know which route to follow [;)]

Only refitting the K26 at the moment, want to put some miles and heat cycles on the GHL's before I put the HFS at risk of debris from the headers. I'll have to get some of those choccy bars too [:D]

Congrats on the new purchase sivermee, stunning car that I was sorely tempted with had it still been for sale. [;)] Paultje, if your 993TT is the only Riviera Blue in RHD then this must have been my old employer's car? He sold it and now runs a Riviera Blue 993TT S along with his yellow 996TT S & Fezza, North East based. C.

Thanks for the welcome. Car is currently with JZ Machtech to have the original dampers replaced (past their best) and the H&R springs removed. I'm fitting a KW system set up for fast road use - not too stiff and not too low. I will report back how it feels. In the meantime here are a couple more pictures of the car alongside my lovely little Club Sport. Kind regards Steve

Welcome Steve - Fab choice, I bought a 3.3 turbo from Paragon a while back. I suspect the 3.6/CS/GT3 provide significantly different driving experiences. ie tell us! [8D] BTW my BMW daily drive is Montreal Blue......
