Hello, I too am a brand new S2 owner. Picked mine up last Thursday I had to laugh at your post regarding the sunroof. Going home on the motorway, mine was flapping all over the place so much so that I had to open it. I thought he had sold me a dud! But actually. The retracting things that hold the sunroof down should not be retracted right back as this is for complete removal. Press the open button very slightly and they will come out and hold it down! There are various manuals that show how to remove the instrument panel. You need to first remove the steering wheel. I aim to do this at the weekend as my dash does not light up very well. Unfortunately there is conflicting information of the socket size I need to remove the retaining nut on my S2. 28 or 27mm seems to be the general size!
thanks for the tip about the sunroof,,was about to go and have a fiddle to work out why it wasnt shutting properly but i wont now haha...dont think ill bother to much about the light till youve had a go and can advise how hard it is,,,i am not really a spanners person but ill have a go at the easier things...good luck....im off to show off now..haha
Hi to both of you! On the '84 car you should be able to reach up under the dash and push the l/h pod out, and change the bulb, but sometimes the wires get tangled. Its a 24mm nut on the early steering wheel (the horn pad just pulls off) and there are 2 screws holding the dash in - top of the 2 side pods, but you will probably have to take the ignition lock covers too. Good luck with your cars
