Welcome, had mine several years, I bought it with 32k on the clock it's now done 64k it's given me many years of fun, and is still great to drive. I believe you have to look after these cars and then they should be reliable and very fun to drive. Enjoy when you get it and I look forward to seeing some pictures. Phil

Hello, I have a 2001 C4 with 61000miles and its a fantastic car. Like you I read about the RMS and IMS issues and this was a worry, so I decided to have both jobs done when I bought the car. The work was carried out by my local indy and I was lucky as the IMS was close to failing. As the indy told me, this is the best money you have ever spent. Its a lottery really, as I did not expect anything to be wrong. But for me I would recommend it to any new owner as the IMS in my car gave no cause for concern, but was still failing. This is just my opinion, and I was very cynical about failures on the 996. Have fun with your C4, its a fantastic car.[;)]
