Bought an 'S' today. Picking it up next week and I'm quite excited. My first Porsche will sit alongside my Lotus Elise on the drive and I cannot wait to get my hands on it.
Paul.

Yes. Haven't been on SeLOC since Christmas: has it got better/worse? Very impressed with the CaymanS. Took it to the lake district last weekend and opened the taps properly for the first time. Still need to explore the limits of grip :) Build quality, fit and finish are superb. I still struggle with why so many enthusiasts do not consider the Cayman and instead vaccilate between a 996 and a 997. I drove several of each before picking the CaymanS which is - in my humble opinion - by far the better handling machine.

Hello to Paul Cayman, MrDemon and Martin Downer! As guests of our club & forum, we welcome you, but us Caymanites live in a sheltered existance, therefore SELOC may still be a mystery to us.... Is it South East Lotus Owners Club?? Maybe there might be a suitable venue to meet up at over the summer?

Spot on! They're pretty pro-Porsche over there - http://forums.seloc.org/today and lots of the Lotus boyos also have Porkers.

Is it South East Lotus Owners Club?? very impressive alan-i`d never have guessed that-i thought it must be some southern electric location or something!!!!hoho

I've just bought a Cayman S and can't wait til Friday to pick it up! It's brand new but pre-registered and is one of the last of the old 'pre-face lift' models. It was tempting to wait for the new one but a £9K saving was too much to overlook :) Black with turbo wheels, climate, heated seats, sill guards, rear wiper, leather steering wheel. Drove it on Monday and was so impressed. To me it seems totally pointless to spend another £15K on a Carrera when I don't need to seats in the back. I also love the fact that you don't see many.

Congratulations on your new purchase. My Cayman S Sport is one week old now, collected it last weekend from Porsche Burgess Hill near Brighton and had a great drive back up to Aberdeen via Middlesex to visit a friend. This is my second Porsche, bought and old 911 Targa on Ebay a couple of years ago and paid the price for not doing my homework. Before buying my Cayman I did quite of lot of reading and searching for the right car with the right spec, I am slowly getting used to the car and will have to get some tuition to find what my limits are with it, I have no doubt that the cars limits are well beyond my imagination. If anyone can provide me with any tips on owning a Cayman or do's and dont's, I be happy to hear from them.

I would not go 20,000 miles or 2 years to the first oil and filter change. The oil is very black after only 4,000. Even if I'm wrong the cost is not great.
