Hi Fellas, just thought i would say hello here on the forum. Have just recently acquired the car i have been searching for, yes its a Cayman, an R. 2011. Seems great just as i had hoped. Hopefully meet up with some of you at some time, i am attached to Region 10. Have owned recently a 924 Carrera GT subsequently sold, and in the distant past a couple of 911s. Currently the Cayman R joins a 914 2 litre, a 911 (996C4 Cab) ands a + 8 Morgan- well i like fresh air! All the best Roy Smith

Welcome. I recently bought a CR too and am thoroughly enjoying it. I hope you enjoy yours too. You understand it is customary for a pic to be posted and to admit to it being pdk or manual. The 924 Carrera GT must have been pretty difficult to part with?

Cheers

Mick

Congratulations on the CR purchase - quite different from the 924 CGT?. I too have recently purchased a CR - looking forward to the warmer weather when I can stretch its legs...

Interesting to see David --- I had 34,000 very good miles out of mine.

Yes the GT4 feels a much tougher tugger and I really enjoy my Clubsport spec, but you will not be disappointed with the CR ---

It's great to see the 964RS clan mopping them up.

P.S. If you put M P Supersports on you will be astonished at how good it is in the cold and wet ... mine was mega at the ill fated Spa days where it snowed, and rained, and snowed again !

Evening Chris,

happy new year to you! I hope you are well

i tried to get a GT4 but I was too late! I've had a itch for a CR for some time and when I had the opportunity to buy the Viper car I grabbed it in a heart beat. I have a habit of buying Porches in 'special' colours.

thanks for the advice on the MPSS - I will need to buy some new boots later in the year.

Hi guys, I recently contacted the previous owner of the Viper Green but was too late. I am however now the proud owner of a 10k miles CR.

Now tucked away in the garage following a day of detailing. Just back on the forum after a long break despite being a member and enthusiast for the past 15 years. Very much regret selling my concours 3.2 Carrera a few years ago but thats life!

Perhaps we could arrange a CR meet in the spring or at Silverstone for the 6 hour WEC. My son and I have booked to attend the Nurburgring WEC in July so should enjoy the drive down into Germany.

HJM 704

Good to see that the CR is still in demand.

My 27k mile Meteor Grey manual on MP Super Sports may possibly come to the market place later in 2016. If I can bear to part with it.......

Well thanks David, as I trust are you.

We share a passion for colour --- Viper is lovely (and the only one ?).

I went for Race Yellow on the GT4, PTS was on/off and I was just very happy to get the Clubsport and Lightweight Buckets spec that would have been my option had it been available on the CR ....

Hi

I am also a Cayman R owner as of 28th December! Mine is a 2011 car on a 61 plate and is Basalt black with silver wheels, door mirrors, seat belts and rear wing.Other details are bucket seats, sports chrono and gearbox is PDK.

Not much usage as yet, but as soon as spring comes I will really enjoy it!

Regards

John McCulloch
