new paint

Just had some bodywork sorted on my car and wondered if I should do anything specific to the new paint.

I understand that you shouldn't polish new paint for a few months until it has fully hardened - is that still right?

Should I wax it straight away to give it some protection, or just leave it alone?

any advice?

Speak to the people who painted it. They will know how long it was baked for, what type of paint they used and how long the full cure time is. 'Some' paints will not cure properly if you seal them with a wax too soon.

Hi Phil,
Is this in preperation for the sale or have you descided to keep it?
Where did you get it painted, was it in the Leeds area? can you recommend them?
I'm looking for somewhere to sort a few blemishes out.

Cheers
Darren.
