New Polycarbonate Windows & Used Polycarbonate Hatch

If I were to offer these for sale: would anyone be interested? The windows are brand new flat 4mm polycarbonate, the 944 doesnt need thermoformed side glass. The hatch is also polycarbonate, thermoformed, but it is quite well used. It is fitted into a hatch frame and currently fitted with a very light hollow GRP 944 type spoiler. The hatch is off a racer, so it has a pair of MSA approved/required longtitudinal bracing strips bolted to the outside and it has had a fairly active life (that said the window alone would cost well over £300 from P4P and youd then have to fit it into a hatch frame, which is a mare).

The rear quarter glasses will fit into the original rubber mounts and the drop glasses will fit into the original carrier (so electric or manual window opening is possible, but not advised).

I should have added, that the weight saving will be substantial, as the glass hatch assembly alone weighs a huge amount, making these ideal for a trackday car.

I can't quite imagine what you mean - any piccies?

Also, what price?

Ive struggled to find pictures Paul. The MSA insist on metal reinforcing braces on polycarbonate replacement glass. There are two, mounted front to back, dividing the rear glass into thirds. They are secured onto the outside using cap headed bolts. Im not sure why: I have a polycarbonate rear hatch glass on my 944 and whilsts its flexible, it is perfectly stable at speed.

Im not sure about the price, but theyll be a lot cheaper than Plastics 4 Performance want for a set of similar 4mm polycarbonate side glasses alone.

Id expect the overall weight saving to be approaching 40 kilogrammes.
