New Porsche Boxster 987 - Couple of problems....

Just brought a used Porsche Boxster 987 however the rear spoiler doesn't work, nor do the buttons by the drivers seat that open the front/rear luggage compartments. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks.

Solution 1) take it back to where you bought it or
Solution 2) check the fuses. For my Boxster (MY2006), the horn, rear spoiler and rear boot release is on the same fuse A3. No mention as far as I could see of what fuse the front boot release is on but probably worth starting with that. Top row of fuses third from the left - 15A fuse required.

I have intermittent problems with my 986 all the time. The more the car is used over 70mph the better it seems to behave. There are two relays in the left hand side of the rear boot, try swopping them about if it is not the fuse.

Thanks for replies. Ive tried the swapping fuse and it still didnt work so I'll give the relays a try later today.

I think the front boot release is F3 on Row C, Relay box is in the Left side rear wing

The fuse I removed I think was A3, different make a difference.

But I did remove the panel/unit with the Spoiler and PSM buttons (below the Climate Control unit), and there isn't actually any cables plugged into the socket behind Spoiler button whereas there are cables plugged into behind the PSM button (which is working)......

I'm guessing this is why the spoiler button isn't working. Any ideas?

Sounds like someone has been tinkering with the wiring. Where did you by the car ?

Edit: I am just going to check the wiring diagram as I can't recall if all the sockets should have plugs on a Boxster.

Do you just have PSM and Spoiler Buttons or do you have any others?

Thanks that would be great. I bought the car from a small dealership. And yes the only two buttons I have are for the Spoiler and PSM.

Thanks.

There is only one plug that should be connected to the 'Button module', plug A.

In which case either you have a faulty module or it just needs re-coding. Whereabouts are you ?

edit: btw it will be the Rear Control unit that may need re-coding.

I'm in London, UK. So is that definitely the problem? And I'm guessing thats something i can't do or check myself? Thanks.

If you are in the London area you are in luck as I and a couple of other guys have their own Porsche Tester.

I live near Denham if that is good for you, or you could drop in the Ace Cafe meet this Monday and I will bring the tester with me.
