New pruchase: can I find any user guides before collection

Hi all,

I been lurking for a while now, but have just secured an ex-dem Cayenne S 05 with all the extras (except Cruise [:(])

I am not collecting the truck until early next week. Are there any user guides available for download so that I can read up and make sure I can play as soon as I get it?

I am particularly interested in the PCM and PASM.

Does anyone also know if the doors can be configured to auto lock when the car gets up to @ 10mph? (I have a young family and this is a useful feature on our existing car).

Thanks in advance, and hopefully speak to you more often.

From another Peter, can tell you that my S locks automatically at 10mph, so no worries there. Plus you have to open the internal door handle twice to release. (Another feature designed for our friends over the pond, I believe).
Don't know of the existence of a downloadable handbook though.

Hope you enjoy - we've done 35k of pretty trouble free truck work over the last couple of years.

Thanks Peter.

I'm hoping the German side of things won't loose as much money as my Maserati did over 2 years....... You don't want to know (although could probably guess!)[:-]

Glad to hear you've had relative trouble free motoring.

Hi Peter,

You don't need to explain Maserati depreciation - they tried to sell me one but made one fatal mistake - they showed me their used stock list. Hang on, thinks I, why are there so many 6 month old demonstrators on sale for £20-25k off list?

A month later they dropped the list price by £10k. How annoyed would I have been if I had just bought one? Words do not exist to describe it... [;)]

yes thecar will be set up for the doors to lock automatically at 10mph

. you can however get this changed if you prefer them not to lock.

if your buying from a OPC then the sales man will happily take you through how everything works again and again if need be untill you understand it all..don't be afraid to ask. theres a lot to take in on delivery day and the sales guys do understand this. also the handbook that comes with the car is actually very good.

Thanks all.

Has anyone successfully 'cloned' a UK SIM for the telephone module. My SPV smartphone is a real pain to get the SIM in / out everytime and it would be handy to have a duplicate in the car.

I know this can be done, but has anyone done this on the KN, and what SIM copier was used?

You might have to donate a few quid to see these if they are 'contributing members only'. I can't remember if they are or are not.

I just bought a PAYG sim. Everytime I'm in the car, I just forward calls from my mobile to it. Not ideal but does the job as I dont use it much

If you are on Orange then you are in luck. You can have a dual SIM. When you are in the car, turn off your mobile. When you turn off your car, make sure you turn your mobile back on to receive calls.

I am on Orange, but they say that they don't supply dual SIM's.

Will these cheapo copiers on ebay 'clone' the sim successfully? Otherwise, how else do you get a dual sim?

thanks,
Pete

Ask for Single Number at the Orange shops. You will get two SIMs with the same number. Make sure you have the right one as the primary one.
