New R/O

No.1 Poster
Im Delighted to be able to tell you that Patrick Bower has agreed to take over as R8 R/O. Patrick has been an active member of the PCGB since 1986 and in that time has owned several diffrent models of porsche.
I know the region is in safe hands as Patrick has some very good ideas for future events and also has the ability/know and enthusiasm how to make these ideas happen..

Hi Helen , nice to know we have a new R/O. I seem to remember Patrick saying he does not use the forum so i do have concerns over how he will comunicate with members who can not attend monthly meetings. You describe Patrick as an active member, but i can not recall any events he has organised or taken part in since i have been a member. Lets hope we can look forward to some exciting events in the future. Kind regards, Andy Mac

Andy, it is (and should be) a team, Patrick is just the team leader.i am happy to continue moderating this section for Patrick. but it should be pointed out that member can post an event/show/ meeting here not just the R/O..so if we all work togeather as a team then region 8 will continue to florish.

Hi Helen ,I totally agree that running R8 should be a team event, but in the time I have been a member(joined 24/03/05) I have met a lot of fellow members and attended a lot of events. These events have all been organised by the same few people, so perhaps we need to emphasise the team work part and hopefully get some more people to put together an event in the future. Kind Regards, Andy Mac

i think we can agree there and although as yet Patrick hasn't actually organised anything himself he has given me ideas for events, gathered information and helped at many shows....(he has attended many shows and meeting just not unfortunatly the ones you have kindly organised or been involved with.) so he does understand what is involved and has many ideas for days out,
I hope you will give him a chance and suport him in this task....Bob Lovelace and myself have talked him into taking this daunting role on, its not a job that many are willing to take on...

yes he will indeed (as he has most meeting this year) he has taken over as of now.

so its a goodbye from me, im off to spend my time playing with my cars[8D]

Then it will be a case of putting the name to a face I already know ... I am crap at remembering the names of people I meet.

Ian.

I'll echo that Ian; looking forward to meeting Patrick. It's very good news that he's prepared to take on Rabble - I mean Region 8!

See you all October 2nd - it says in my diary it's the Day of Atonement - that sounds ominous [8|].

just a reply to andy mac i know i am not R8 member but porsche post is the main way to advertise and comunicate events to the mebership and every one gets that.
The forum is only used by a small paportion of club members regards Daryl r.oR24

Will i be able to come along to these ? Just bought a 996 face lift and was wondering if there were any meets near me. I only live a few miles up the road

Steve :)

you sure will Steve. the more the merrier [8D].

you'll find us either gathered around the cars in the car park, around the down stairs bar...or in the private "reception"area at the top of the stairs...follow the noise[;)]
