So thanks for your suggestions... see below (later posting)!
Monthly (DAY) meetings
OH DEAR[&:]... Unfortunately, I have just - at this last minute (30th Sept 2013) received notification from Robin Simpson (Dealer Principal at OPC Silverstone) that they will NOT BE OPEN on Sundays any more!. This is, of course, their commercial decision to do so, but leaves the Region without a meeting place, particularly for the most imminent meeting on Sunday 13th October.
I thank Robin and all at the OPC for their strong support for our Region and wish them well.[
]
I have a "˜stopgap' suggestion of moving the meeting (for the time being) to Jack's Cafe ("˜greasy' spoon), which is on the left of the A5 (travelling North) a few hundred metres beyond the roundabout where the A43 crosses it at the top of Towcester.
This where the DAY meeting will take place on the next date on Sunday 13th October.... Jack's Cafe
Hope this is OK, and look forward to seeing as many of you as can make it to support the Region... I'll be open to alternative suggestions for the future home of our meeting.
(PS This also comes on the same day I took the decision to STOP the Monthly Evening Meetings, although they will have finished now because of the time of year![8|]
These monthly Monday evening meets will not take place any more).

Idea 2 . Contact Manager ? for the track days etc Silverstone Wing- they have cafe bar / parking / host 911uk meets periodically. also an opportunity for members to see the facilities and services. Idea 3. Porsche Experience Centre.Silverstone .. Sometimes not open on a Sunday...umm Manjit
Thanks for all the ideas... we’ll have a little talk about it on the meet at Jack’s - will investigate in the meantime.[
] (Manjit - yes I thought the Experience Centre would be brilliant - apart from the Sunday bit... though there’s no reason that it has to be Sunday (although prob preferable).. maybe even Saturday.....ramble, ramble [
]) And thanks Andy for the heads-up - will be there (Jack’s) earlier prob anyway for late brekky (if that makes sense)!

] I have today met with the Operations Director of Porsche Experience Centre and arranged that we can hold our Monthly Meetings there. In a change to what you may have known from before, the meeting will not take place at a specific time of the month (eg second Sunday) as it did before, but dates for each specific month will be posted / informed to members. PLEASE REMEMBER: Our temporary DAY meeting will still take place, this month, as arranged on Sunday 13th October at Jack’s Hill Cafe, just north of Towcester on the A5, from about 12am The second new date for your diary is Saturday November 9th, 12.30 to around 3.30pm, at Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone Circuit, Northants. The third new date for your diary will be 12th December - Xmas Evening Meal at Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone Circuit, Northants[/b][/color]. October - Sun 13th, Jack’s Hill Café (temp) monthly meet November - Sat 9th , Porsche Experience Centre monthly meet December - Thurs 12th, Xmas Evening Meal at Porsche Experience Centre (please see the 2013 Xmas Meal forum post to book your place!) I am liaising with PEC to establish dates for 2014, which are not available yet, but will inform as soon as I know. Hope all this is clear with everyone and that you appreciate the change. It’s a great venue, we should all do our best to support R10 and Porsche Cars GB and have a good time as well![

Well done Paul , great venue. Looking forward to new venue ..... Russ
Hi Brian It is, I believe, booked out for tomorrow, so it would be reasonable for us as members at this stage to stay clear of the refreshment area until after 1.30pm, particularly for tomorrow, being the first of our meets there (diplomacy). Tea and coffee will be available as usual after that. I gather there has to be a previously arranged call on that - i.e. if anyone wants to have lunch, it’s up to the individual (or body) to enquire specifically and arrange with them well in advance. This is because the restaurant is only staffed up for specific demand, as far as I know... it’s only reasonable for them to need to know numbers[
] Hope it’s not too wet tomorrow [&:]... feel free to intrude[
]
The first meeting went very well - great to see at least 30 members attend and thanks to you all for supporting R10, despite the cold, wet weather! Always remember, your enthusiasm and knowledge for your car and others has the potential to grow, the more you get involved (and, if you feel like it, assist) with the region and club events - most importantly, we’re a happy bunch [How did the meeting go - I was working so couldn't be there
