New Regional Organiser

Yorkshire region members that have been around for a year or two will know that the region has been run by a committee without a specific Regional Organiser. Generally, we have managed well, relying much of the time on Martin Plavins to take on many of the RO's tasks (thanks, Martin). However, Martin has decided to step down from the committee and, as suggested in January 2007's Porsche Post, there is a need for someone else to take on the RO's role.

So, having thought about the position, consulted the committee and some of the "˜regulars' and talked it through with Bob Lovelace, I have agreed to become Yorkshire region RO from 1st January 2007.

Many regional members who use the forum and come along to club nights will know me already; for those that don't, I have been a club member since 1995 and was a member of the regional committee from its inception until January this year. I attend most club nights and many regional and national activities and I have owned eight Porsches over the last 15 years. My current one is a 997 C2S which I bought only a month ago.

I have plenty of ideas about what I would like to do for the region next year and will be discussing these with the committee, along with the programme of events for 2007, in the next couple of weeks.

In the meantime, I would appreciate your continuing support at club nights and events over the forthcoming year.

Best wishes for a happy and successful 2007.

Hi Ian.
Nice to see you on board.
May we wish you a happy New Year and as much enjoyment in running your Region as we have with ours.

Congrats chasps!!

So a Region visit to Oulton Park March 16th as one of you events???[;)]

Congratulations Ian

As we are also neighbours please e-mail me your events calendar for 2007, and I will also reciprocate with the Lancs & Cumbria one, so we probably join up at some events. Our big event is Woodvale International Rally on 4/5th August, near Southport, and we would love your region to come over and join us. We had 55 Porsches attending in 2006.

Have a look at www.woodvale-rally.org.uk for info on this event

David & R18 Committee

Thanks all for your encouragement. We'll do our best to live up to expectations. David and Nicola - I'll let you have a programme for 2007 once we have it finalised.
Melv - Oulton Park in March could be on the calendar. What are the details?

Congratulations, Ian.
Best wishes for 2007.
Pat & I had the pleasure of taking part in your 'Fish & Chip' run to Whitby (as organised by John Holmes) at the back end of last year which we enjoyed greatly, and we always look forward to Harewood. I'm sure there will be other events in the future in which our respective Regions will both take part.
