When you get new Porsche Post you will see that Mavis has resigned from the position of Regional Organiser.
We are both pleased to announce that our Assistant R/O, Derek Sharp has been appointed as you new R/O.
As well as 2 years supporting us as Assistant , Derek has a wealth of experience as an official of PCGB.
He has been the Register Secretary of two Registers and was a Director of the Club in 2001 & 2002. He has been my right hand at many 'Manx Tours' and assisted at Cotswold Rallies and Porsche & Polo. You don't have to be gentle with his as he is 'Battle hardened'.
Geoff & Mavis

Whilst this might seem to be just a reciprocal missive of back-slapping (not too much of that recently [:D]) I just would like to post this:

Firstly, I want to start by thanking both Mavis and Geoff for their incredible Stirling service to R31, the Cotswold Region, over many years. We all know just how hard Geoff has worked and has always given 120% to our Club. I do not need to amplify that here, but no doubt others will. However, Mavis too has worked tirelessly behind the scenes and often behind the tea urn. An unsung hero who shuns the lime light. So both of them deserve a mega round of applause. No other couple has worked harder for this club.

So that is a very hard act to follow. However, I have volunteered to take over and will happily hand back the baton should Geoff ever change his mind. In the mean time I will not be a new broom sweeping clean as I am a firm believer in the axiom "˜If it ain't broke, don't fix it'. However, it is your region, so if you have any good ideas, let me know. Apart from drive n dine events, I'll be looking at other interesting stuff. It has long been my intention to do a wings n wheels day where we fly and drive. Last year we visited Cotswold Airport. Watch this space for other events. R31 will not die!

Excellent news Derek - I am chuffed for you.

I know you will do the Region and the Club proud with your enthusiasm, and of course, the never ending wit!

My thanks also to Mavis and to Geoff who together have done so much for the Club. I hope we continue to see them both at events up and down the country.

Many congratulations Derek. As you know You've got a very act to follow. Per ardua ad astra as we say. Always willing to help with R31 events. Alan.

Thanks Alan, Of course all help welcome. It should never be left to a handful to run the show. So all ideas and help most appreciated.

On that note, the next Club Open Day at Cornbury House (6 May) will be a meeting of R31 when I will be most receptive to any ideas. James hopes to be there also as indeed will Geoff. Geoff suggests that those who wish, take lunch at the Greedy Goose afterwards.
