New RO for R2 North Scotland

911sse

New member
Hi folks.

I was suitably pressganged by Hamish Fergus and the crew to take over as the RO for the North of Scotland last night.

Firstly, I would like to thank Hamish and Johnathan for their efforts over the last five years, and I accept his chalice and hope to move things forward.

Dave Goodwin will be the Assistant RO.

Our greatest challenge here is topography, we cover a vast area and only meet in Aberdeen at present. I may look into is a bi-monthly meeting in the Inverness area if we can generate enough interest.

I will probably look to change the Aberdeen venue also, albeit, still on the first Thursday of every month.

My first challenge is too arrange the 3No 911 coupe's from various era's for the 997 launch at Aberdeen Town & County on Tues 14th Sept.

I am looking for narrow bodied coupe's :

Pre impact bumper ( may have a '69 911 already )
3.2 Carrera ( my SSE not being suitable, too large, like its owner probably!! )
964
993

There will be an official 997 launch on Sat 18/Sun 19th Sept at Town & County in Aberdeen and all PCGB members are welcome.

I look forward to working with by you all, as well as Brian in Glasgow to bring the Scottish regions together for more track and motorport events (personal favorites there!). Including a few boozy weekends away, maybe abroad too in the near future!

If anyone has any positive imput or comments/requests, pelase do not hesitate to get in touch.

Regards

Mark Baker

Here's a request... I hope you beat me fair and hard at any track day as usual

Seriously, congratulations Mark, I'm sure you'll do a great job.

Playing dirty eh......don't worry, I can edit YOUR messages on another forum remember.....

going on wednesday night then? Where do you want overtaken? duffus? haripin? straight? The choice is yours [;)]

I am afraid the car is still off the road due to the increase in
the amount of work I wanted too do!!

I have got till the 25th Aug to get it finished for the Autocar Porsche
day at Bedford Autodrome.

Will be at Knockhill at the Sept meeting though.

Best of luck Mark, you seem suitably mad about Porsche, and are like me persuing a long and expensive course to tweak your car to the max.
