Birthday boy gets Road Angel as pressie.

Question: Has anyone DIY'd a hardwire for this, if so, how? My trouble and strife phoned someone (don't know who but thank god she didn't have the keys to the car) to ask if they did it and the guy on the other end said yes but they drill a hole in the dash!!!!!!

I had a Boxster as a courtesy car from Mid Sussex OPC which, I am sure had a unit hardwired which looks a lot neater than the coiled wire to the fag lighter.

Any pointers to how would be greatly appreciated.
 
You might be able to wire to something under the panel where the alarm flashing bulb is (centre-front of dash).
On cars with the Sat-Nav the GPS receiver is located here (on a magnet under the alarm flasher!). You might be able to tap in to power here - the GPS module would need power?
 
Mid Sussex hardwired mine for £100.00!

Pick-up power from the fuse board in the driver footwell. I believe only the satnav gps patch antenna is in the top of the dash, and that is passive (no power)
