New Roof for Cabriolet

I just got a shock by asking a main dealer for a replacement cabriolet supply and fit. Has anyone had an after market supply and fit. I want a plastic 'original' size window not a glass update as I find them to small.
Any recommendations in the South of UK appreciated

Thanks

Ian

Yes, I had one done in April 1976.

On recommendation from my R12 organiser who'd had a new top fitted to a 944/968 type I sourced a new top from German Auto Tops https://www.germanautotops.com/porsche-996-99-01-black-german-a5-w-plastic-window who were sporting enough, without much prompting from me to import it described as something like "cloth samples" at a couple of hundred dollars. I also had them ship some matching black fabric to recover the bar and caps which conceal the pop-up roll hoops.

I used a local craftsman Howard Sands http://www.howardsands-vehicleupholsterer.co.uk/home who really is a one man band operating out of a farm business park.

Howard offered to source a new roof from within GB but couldn't match the German Auto Tops price.
My 996 cab has a glass window and the roof came marked for the window but without glass: my existing glass had to be re-used. This came as a surprise to Howard who is quite used to replacing cracked plastic windows in Boxsters and 996's.

All in, my costs were lower, much lower than a GB-sourced aftermarket roof and Howard was extremely complementary about the quality of the roof from German Auto Tops.

Was I pleased then? Yes I was. I was replacing a watertight but faded roof with a brand new black item. I was also pleased by the level of cost involved.
Am I still pleased? Well, the car stands outside 365 days a year and hasn't seen the hardtop since 2013. It's raining now, the roof is watertight and looks great.
