New Sports exhaust - Wow

Just picked my 3.4 996 C2 up from PCT (08456 444993) after they fitted an Porsche Tequipment switchable sports exhaust.

What a fantastic piece of kit this is. It now makes my 996 sound like a sports car should and brings a huge smile when you pull way from the lights. On the motorway you can hear it but it isn't a pain like some after market ones that just give you a headache. The switch is great and at the touch of a button it is back to normal. My wife insisted on the switch as I often leave home at 5.30am to drive to the airport to fly off abroad for work.

Nick and the team at PCT were brillant and did a great job, very professional, and the interior remains as it was before the work - no marks, rattles or signs of having been apart to fit the switch.They also fitted a 6 CD changer which works with my PCM, so now the car is exactly how I want it. The bill was less than I thought (I added lots of extra little jobs whilst they had it, like you do) and the exhuast price was exactly as quoted. They even gave me a lift to Birmingham airport when I dropped the car off. Very nice people to deal with.

If you want to know the price (which was less than I expected and hugely less than a OPC) the give them a call, as my bill is for a whole load of work.

I would recommend a OEM sports exhaust to any 996 owner and certainly recommend PCT who will be getting all my future business

I had the PSE on my 996 3.6 and it is the most significant option on any 996. It transforms the quality and character of the car.

It's such a 'must have' that it really should be standard equipment.

I totally agree, PCT is, in my opinion, the only side of that site to deal with

Parked in my work underground car park today. It was worth buying the PSE just to arrive and leave work today. What a sound.

Another vote for the PSE! Simply a great system, I can't believe other manufacturers haven't cottoned on to the switchy bit.

Have you the cut out on the PSE? I got mine OPC installed without the cut out, and I find it (built up area) a tad noisy, I wonder if I could live with the cut out though?

The cut-out is easy to disable by the guy that fits it- mine has the dash switch and is either noisy or not depending on the mood... no spoilsport auto cut-out between 30-50. Call me Mr Considerate, but I do tend to leave it in quiet mode on my pre-6.30am commute when going through villages etc.
