New steering wheel on

Well after yonks and yonks (and yonks and yonks) of umming and ahhhing, I finally went for a new steering wheel.

Part of the problem was that my lozenge is still in great condition - only one scuff on the lower part of the rim.

The other part of the problem was that the RS / CS wheels always seemed a bit costly to me. Tight 4rse you see. [;)] They do look great though.

After much prodding around e-gay, I finally got a brand new Momo Fighter for half the going list price. Was slightly sceptical, but when it arrived there is no doubting that it's ever been on a car. [8D]

Bought the boss and fitted it today. Since I had the wheel off I've returned to my "as-new" 968 stalks without the headlamp wash function. I'd bought a replacement "proper" set but they went the same was as my original stalks (indicators failing to switch off etc). Decided I probably needed my indicators more than the headlamp washers (in fact, I haven't used them once since I previously took the 968 stalks off ~ approx 10 months ago [&:] ).

Anyway - delighted with the wheel. Takes several years off the interior IMHO, and feels better to boot. It's a 350mm version, so only marginally smaller. Instruments just as clear as they were originally. [:)]

As you can see I popped over 82K miles this week. [:D]

Design911 sell Porsche centre badges for the Momo wheels, so I may stick one of them on in the future.......

Looks good Mik, and sounds like a bargain. I would definitely get a Porsche badge for the centre though [8D]
