I have one on my Cabriolet which turns off the sonic sensors on the burglar alarm when you leave it parked with the hood down.

I have one on my Cabriolet which turns off the sonic sensors on the burglar alarm when you leave it parked with the hood down.

I believe this to be the case, so that you can e.g. leave the sunroof open on a hot day. I also thought it had something to do with switching off the 'total closure' but I'm not sure on that one.

no its manuel thanks so still no wiser nothing seems to happen when pressed im convinced there is no wires behind will have to have a look thanks

yes it's part of the factory alarm system. I have the switch on my turbo but I don't think it does anything anymore as my car has a newer after market system fitted.

I have one on my Targa, which is located next to the overide key socket, for when the blipper stops working.
So the theory about the switching the interior sensors off is very likely.

There is one in our 964-I was reliably informed that it was indeed to isolate the cabin sensors so that windows, sunroof etc could be left slightly open or an animal left inside(which would then need ventilation).I have never used it.
The sensors are supposed to be within the rear seat panel but I have not found them yet. [&o]
