New Targa 4S - Sensual Moment Shared!!

Guys,

Just thought I would share something with you!

Ah the joys of owning a brand new car, and the very first time you share that special moment with her when you wash her for the first time!!

As you all know we have had some pretty poor weather of late, and floods have been the norm in this part of the midlands over the last few days.

So as my new baby has got a bit dirty ( oh er missus!!) I decided to give her a quick clean as the sun came out for a while today too.

Now its strange but I don't remember feeling this was about my previous C4S Cab, but I just could not get over the beauty of the lines of my new car, as I carefully ran the brand new AutoGlym sponge over her, OHHHHH!!!

She was also surprisingly easy and quick to clean too, the AutoGlym LifeShine treatment clearly works wonders for the black paint.

It also made me appreciate the beautiful symmetry of the chrome across the top of the windows running down the back window, this really doe make for a sharp look.

Any way after all of this sexual bonding etc, I thought a few photos, with a few stylish arty ones thrown in for good measure, would be in order.

So here goes:

The whole album is here:

Hi Dyllan,

I am sure you would not say that if you truly knew me!! [:D]

But thanks for the words of support.

And yes I cannot believe how much I am loving my new baby, I just cant get enough of driving her or even just looking at her, my wife thinks its becoming and obsession!!

I am just enjoying the "MeisterStuck" sound that the new engine makes, it really is such a fantastic noise.

I have the PSE on order but just dont think I will want it in the new year, the noise mine makes now is just so creamy!!

Need to stop dreaming about her every waking hour.

Swiss Toni says "You know, washing a brand new car is like making love to a beautiful woman."
Spyderman,

Oh yes damn why did I not think of that when I have already quoted the oh great one himself that is Swiss Tony!!

Now in the words of the great man himself:

" And yet, having therapy is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. You ... get on the couch, string 'em along with some half-lies and evasions, probe some deep dark holes, and then hand over all your money."

LOL,

I had sports exhaust fitted to my gen1 C2 after about a year and was very impressed with the difference. My new gen2 C2S sounds great and although I had originally wanted the PSE but now I think it is not necessary.

Hi Jon,

I too think that I wont bother now, does it mean that we have had some sort of Darwin-esq evolution do you think?

The PSE and my old Cab now seems just so vulgar and somehow crude compared to my new steed, which by comparison seems like a very fine Swiss Watch such is the meticulous attention to detail, and precision intricacy of the engineering.

I feel that I have some sort of epiphany and I am now truly evolved!!

What a lovely thread with fantastic pictures to accompany it [;)]

Hi Jane,

Thanks for the kind words of support, sorry if there is just a little too much male testosterone flowing in this message thread, you know what us boys are like when we are left on our own talking about cars!!

So sorry we are naughty!!

Don't worry about it Nige, I spend a disproportionate amount of my waking hours cleaning, drooling over or driving my gen2 - it really is the best car I have even driven - I started a thread over on RT about a Masserati Gran Tourismo S that I drove the other day (need a car to sit in between the 911 and the XC90; a sort of family sports car) - made me realise how good the gen 2 and esp PDK is.

Thanks for sharing

Hi Mex,

Yes I know what you mean, I too have had the same trials and tribulations in what car to buy next.

I then thought you know what F**K it, you only live once and bought my new 997.2 Targa instead!!

I too have the family car, my three year old Land Rover Discovery 3, which has been a great car, and I might as well drive it into the ground now, although despite a few software gremlins and recalls that were dealt with by LR Warranty its been and still is a great car.

I too was looking at an in-between family car, and had new Audi RS6 Avant on a test drive, like you thought great car, can still take the family and the dog out and have fun, but then when you put some options on it, we are talking £90K plus, and at that level its good Porsche money and just not worth it IMHO.

I am still happy with my little garage of fun toys as well as the family tool toy though!!

Great pictures Nigel, thanks for sharing.

I'm still to clean my new car, it is going back to the original OPC for some extra's to be fitted that weren't available at the time of pickup, so I'll let them do the first clean ;-)

As for the PSE, I've asked to be informed on it availability for the Gen2 cars and will make judgement when I drive one with it fitted.

My Gen1 car had it fitted and I loved it. Understand and appreciate the comments on how the Gen2 engine has a "new" sound and it does sound silky, but I want a little bit more noise.... PSE will hopefully give me that ;-)

Regards
Mark

Mark,

Yes my OPC told me the PSE would be available from April of 2009, I will see what I think when I try one of their cars nearer the time.

BYTW have you notice the section in the new owners manual referign to it to?

From the picture it looks like there will be an additional switch on gen 11 cars just for the PSE.

Here it is, sorry for the poor picture its hard to scan:

We will have to wait and see re the actual sound.

Hi Nigel,

That button is the same as the one I had on the Gen1 car.

I understand that if you have Sport Chrono fitted that the PSE button is not required. Sports Chrono = PSE + Chrono + Throttle adjustments (or whatever it does) ;-)

Mark

Mark,

OK that explains it then, my previous car had PSE and Sport Chrono, but had no button to operate the exhaust separately.

The only reason I pointed it out from the picture in the manual is that it also shows the Sport plus Button, and from the location of that it looks like the sport button is also located to the left of that button.

Just got me wondering!!
