New to Cayenne Ownership

Hello Cayenne owners,
Having caught the Porsche addiction with my 981 Boxster S and with a recurring leak on my BMW X5 sunroof, I took the plunge and bought a new Cayenne S from Porsche Newcastle. Not my first choice of colour but Montego Blue is definitely growing on me. It has the four must have options of adaptive air suspension, switchable sports exhaust, sport chrono and a panoramic roof. Drives very differently from the X5 as it feels more like a performance sports saloon than an SUV. Early days but I'm loving the sound of the V8 and the effortless torque. Having watched numerous YouTube reviews, the V8 appears to be the sweet spot of the range, if like me, fuel consumption and company car tax are not issues.
My only problem now is deciding which car to take on the R3 drives!

That looks great, congratulations! I’m thinking about chopping my M5 in for a Cayenne coupe, as the new M5 Touring isn’t pressing my buttons at the moment.

Hi Steve and welcome to Cayenne ownership, hope you enjoyed the run on Sunday hopefully see you at the next one in your new car.
Hi Greg,
Great drive on Sunday. I did look out for you but understand from Dave that you left before lunch. Hope to see you on the 17th.
Steve

Lovely car Stephen, shame about your problematic sun roof leak on your X5.

Hope the newer Cayennes are a bit more reliable with the panoramic roof than the earlier designs like in the Macan. (y)
Keep checking those footwell mats!

Thanks. I'm sure all manufacturers have problems with these roofs but for me they are a must have option. The problem with the X5 G05 model was well publicized on the forums. The replacement seals were upgraded as a result. It took my dealership three visits to sort out the problem and the car was off road for four weeks because of it. The last attempt involved replacing every single roof seal and apparently cured the leak. I had lost confidence by then and as the Porsche OPC was next door to the dealership and had cars in stock at a discount, it was an easy decision. Besides that, the X5 was a great car!
Will definitely be checking the mats!

I had a leaky pan roof in my Macan.
Needed complete new roof/body seals which cost the thick end of £500
4 hrs labour.
And out of warranty.

Dry as a bone now and I actually only had 2 instances of rainwater getting in.

Enjoy your Cayenne 👍🏻

Hi,
Myself and a friend of mine both have cayenne's ..mine is a pure combustion engine V6 where as his is a e-hybrid model 2020 reg with only 20,000 miles when he got it from a dealer in manchester earlier this year ..he's encountered a battery problem already, its his daily car and he uses it regularly . unlike to have a battery issue at this age and mileage . he had contacted porsche aberdeen who are full till new year so he went to a german car specialist as we do not have any porsche independent specialist in aberdeen. anyone else with a similiar issue with the e-hybrid models . It is also not able to recognise the key on occasions when he steps inside the vehicle.

I love Montego blue, I saw one in my local dealer and it really caught my eye. The red calipers really finish it off too. I have a Carrara white Cayenne Diesel, I've driven 43k in it in less than 3 years and it hasn't skipped a beat. Best car I've ever had and I love it to bits. It certainly helps to be fully loaded with all the extras.

I would not have chosen Montego blue as my first choice but it looked so good in the showroom and you don't see many on the road. Intend to keep it long term as you won't be able to buy a new V8 soon.
