New to me

I have just become the new custodian of a fantastic 2002(52) 996 C2 Manual in Lapis Blue.
We started our relationship today with a 300 mile drive home and I must say I was mightily impressed how happy it was switching between tootling along in the miriad of average speed cameras to quick blasts(ooooft) of smile inducing Tarmac munching!
It's just had a good service plus IMS bearing, RMS, clutch and rear brakes with some other maintenence bits n bobs.
It needs a bit of paintwork tidying and the alloys refurbished but on the whole I'm a very happy owner.

Lapis blue does looks very nice in the sun,
Sounds like you have all the concerns covered.
Have fun & enjoy

Quite a purchase and "future proofed" with the IMS and other work done too. 39k seems like you've got a good'un

First upgrade tonight, LED 997.2 Dectane rear lights.

Pioneer DEH-X8500DAB going in at the weekend if I can figure out how the A Piller trim comes off.

And a good wash by looks of it!

Why do you want to take the A Pillar trim off?

If memory serves me, take out the top seat belt bolt, and remove the B Pillar trim. Then unclip the A Pillar/top trim, working from the seat belt end forward. You have to give it a good tug, and it makes horrible noises as the metal clips release. Be brave.

Hi Richard,

Yeh I think I just read a post by yourself on the subject.

Reason is to fit and wire for the DAB screen mounted aerial and hands free microphone.

New Pioneer DAB stereo fitted.

Only took just over an hour and that included being brave hauling off the A Pillar trim but worth it for the neatness of it all.

Will probably take me longer to figure out how it all works!

Only a couple of scars for my efforts.

Here you go, not the best picture of the DAB aerial but very discreet and you don't notice it after a bit.

I will relocate the mic to the drivers side A pillar, just ran out of time lastnight.
