New to Porsche and fuel injectors

Hi all, I have a 1986 8v and I’m not sure wha injectors to use.
Are they all the same or some better than others for this particular car.
I’m new sorry if this is a very basic question to ask.
Cheers all

I’m not sure if changing them like a spark plug was a good idea as I’m sure they have done a good job for the past 35 years or its a part that just keeps going wit good maintenance.

oh and the reason that this has come up is that i think there is some fuel leaking from one of them (or there abouts)

At the price of new genuine injectors

get them serviced and cleaned, flow tested and new seals, they have a solid body and don’t leak

new each about £400 from Porsche, that‘s £1600 at Porsche prices, service and new seals about £85 for all four

i would use the search and do some reading before randomly replacing parts

Seals, filters and pintle caps are easy to change. Not unheard of for the fuel rail itself to crack and leak - usually due to knackered engine mounts (Ask me how I know).

Ha ha, this post beat me to it, my number 4 injector has a nylon spacer and seal missing, noticed when the AFR guage was reading high and started looking for air leaks.
ordered a seal set from Design 911..........wrong ones even though their website looked to me as they were correct.
Having been on the phone they are sending out another set that should fit after I gave them the injector Bosch number, Turbos are fitted with Bosch 803 Greens which are the same as fitted to Ford Cosworth engines.
I can only assume other 944 models have different injectors.
To the original poster, there are companies out there that service them via post for not a ton of money.
You can source new ones for about £80 each from a Bosch dealer, forget Porsche prices and some of the "specialists"" prices, D911 want around £400 each !
Yeah righto ??

Its leaking but not p***ing out, I have not had a chance to look into it yet and having belts and pump done end of this month so might ask them to take a look for me then.
Thing is due to the age of these cars you never know what has been changed in the past, have seen some injectors that are generic but trying to find something specific to the car (at an affordable price) is not easy but then again it could be coming from the rail not the injector and that brings a different headache.

They always benefit from a service

mr injector, new seals, o rings and nylon spacers for £85

bargain
