Hi Everyone, new to the club and new to Porsche ownership. I've just bought a 991.2 Carrera 4s and absolutely love it! I decided to join the club to try and get the best out of ownership. It's not important but something I'm intrigued about is the hole in the centre of the door sill. It seems there is a bar (located on lower part of door) which slots into the hole when the door is closed, as I say I'm just intrigued why the 911 has this. If anyone could shed any light on this it would be appreciated. Thanks, Danny.

It’s where a metal reinforcement bar goes in from the bottom of the door. It’s to stop the door pushing into the cabin and squashing you if you get side swiped.
i hope you never have to test it out.
cheers

Thanks for the reply that's great, I was just struggling to google what it was. Yes, I hope I never have to test that out!
