New to S2 ownership - Greetings from Norfolk

Morning all - just thought I'd say hello to introduce myself as a newbie to 944 ownership (hopefully the pic attached). Recently became the latest custodian of J102 SOH and delighted with the experience so far. I'm sure there is much to learn and although I have much history for this car, I'm always interested to hear from prior owners. It's evident that much hard work and care has gone into my S2 over the years - and I hope to keep her in the same tip top condition.

Best to all
Paul

Welcome to the forum Paul and to 944 ownership. Your car looks great and in the best colour too...:)

I know the car. Was owned by Jonny Ashcroft who lives near me, he barely used it and kept it stored away from his house. The few times I did see it was at my local Indy’s (D&G) where he kept on top of any necessary or preventative maintenance. The "For Sale” pictures are still on this site and were taken at my friend’s detailing business after it was fully polished and Gtechniq coated - looking brand new!

He bought it from another local guy who didn’t own it that long (think he may even have bought it from 911V where I think Jonny sold it back to). This guy is a successful local businessman and paid top money for the car as it was mechanically and cosmetically very well sorted with a massive spend over the last few years. He had the car delivered to him and then won regional concours the week after with it Having never entered a concours competition before!!! He didn’t use it much and the car had ticked a box for him so that was that - think he had a 991 GT3RS as a stablemate so you can understand why the S2 didn’t get much use.

So yeah, I’d say you’ve got a very good example there and all the usual caveats we’d be saying like "check the chain tensioners, cams, belts, etc.” don‘t apply.

Hi Paul,
Looks a very nice S2 example, our first Porsche was a 1991 944 S2 Cabriolet in cobalt blue moved on to a 1992 968 cabriolet in Horizon Blue which we still have joined later by a 996 C4 tip Cabriolet!

The S2 was also our first Cab and as you can see we do enjoy cabriolets when doing Porsche events! We really have a soft spot for 944 especially S2's and very much rate the front engined transaxle cars.

Please bring to our first club night at the Bird In Hand PH when the Car is the Star on Tuesday 27th July.
Kind Regards

Hi I nearly had a heart attack when I looked at the picture, the registration number looked rather familiar. I had to go to the garage and check my S2 Cabrio in Guards Red. Phew J108 SOH. I have had it for about 15 years (pos more) and have lived in Norfolk for the last 7. Enjoy yours, We have enjoyed ours.

Cheers Jonny - been meaning to reply to you :) - apologies for the delay - work and enjoying the S2 getting in the way!
