My first instructions for were to run in the engine, be careful warming up the tyres --- oh, and the brakes still needed bedding in.

So qualifying was an initiation, the car having been completed with herculean effort by Strasse and friends (PW stand forward) at 10.00pm on the Friday evening.

1:30 was a back of the grid start, but a very good place from which to build.

And an improvement into the :22's was reasonably comforting.

Now all I need to do is learn to get something serious out of "her", but this Championship is a great place to be.

Potential newcomers take note, -- if I can --- you can too

And the season is yet young !!

Brands, here I come

(Actually "her" does not do the Young Lady justice --- looking for an inspirational name !!)

Always nice to see a racing Cayman. The pic alone has generated a little intrigue into the Club Championship, which I know nothing about (but will now go & have a little look). Can you give a summary of what's been done to race prep it? Good luck!

Well done Chris; and all the best for the coming season. Will your's be the only Cayman mixing it with the Boxsters, 968s, etc? As 6 has said, some tech details for your car would be good - engine and suspension mods and set-ups, etc. Please keep us posted on your progress this year on this forum too. Jeff

How come your car isn't listed in the TSL results? http://www.tsl-timing.com/barc/2013/131421pcb.pdf Chris.

Looking at the list he was on Row 15 but his Cayman is listed as a 968 CS!!![]

If it's listed as a 968 CS (Club Sport) there certainly is..! In line 4-cylinder front engined versus flat-6-cylinder mid-engined, etc. But both are water cooled. Jeff

I was being a little facetious [;)] Dunno how the Cayman's were missed because there are two of us --- Chris Dyer and Myself. All built to club regs --- which means 1425 kilos minimum weight. We are running JRZ remote reservoir suspension, standard brakes, standard engine but with steel liners, LSD, GT3 front arms --- and my car was finished at 10.00pm the Friday before the race. In fact, it arrived almost on race day [:)] So, a lot new ... including Pirelli slicks ... / ... wets ...

Good stuff Chris. You and Chris D are carring the banner for all us Caymanites. Go for it - just make sure that you keep her on the track..! Jeff

Standard brakes - as in both discs and pads? Is that in the regs? We have to use the standard discs but have Mintex pads. If you're allowed, try the Performance Friction PF06 or PF08 pads on standard discs - make a massive difference. Chris.

Sorry Chris, 'didn't see this. The car is being run by Strasse but I'll ask about the pads --- with current weights the brakes seem to be wearing very quickly --- Thanks for the suggestion ---
