Hi all,

Porsche apparantely charge £205 plus VAT for a new TCA which seems steep for what it is. Does anyone know of a better place to source a new TCA from?

Any recommendations appreciated.

PS - I am based in Edinburgh Scotland, and I am using Brian Miller(independent Porsche specialist) at the moment for work. £60 plus VAT per hour.

cheers, Richard

You can get exchange refurbed arms from a company called Hartech in Manchester for about £120+vat or PorschApart are doing new arms for around £160.

The bushes are a nightmare to replace unless you have some major equipment, easier to fit new or re-furbed. I'm just fitting Powerflex bushes to mine but I've got half the maintenance team at BAEsystems doing them for me[;)]

thanks guys !! I will check out all these leads. The mechanic sprayed some lubricant in the ball joint and hey presto no more squeeking noise, however suspect this wont last long till it drys out.

How does Hartech work on the refurbed arms? i.e do you return your faulty tca after they have provided a new one. How does the arrangement work?

Sprayed lubricant, hope it wasn't WD40 or the arms will be squeeking again. It is possible to remove the top sealing ring from the ball joint boot and re-pack with grease.
I would imagine you pay Hartech the cost of the arm plus a deposit, they send out fresh wishbones and your deposit is refunded when you send back your old ones.

Useful to know thankyou. The noise has completely gone since the engineer added some lubricant to the ball joint. Of course, its only been 3 days so may not last much longer....

I will ask him if he can do as you suggested, because if it solves the problem it will save maybe £200-£250

Yeh, I went through the lub the ball joint route about a year ago. I used a syringe to inject lubricant. I found that it worked with regards the creaking but doesn't stop the sqeeky noise from the bushes. The only way to properly solve that is to replace them. I did track control arms about 3 weeks ago, purchased a set of OES on e-bay for £150 ea. They are german and seem to be ok so far.
