New tyres from Black Circle

I caught the rear tyre against the kerb last week and took a big chunk out of the sidewall. OPC Bow said that I definitely needed a new tyre, bit it was safe to replace just the damaged one and not the other one on the same "axle". They quoted £300 for a N rated 19" Pilot Sport. Kwik Fit said £280 and most other places didn't even list them. Blackcircle.co.uk had them in stock, will deliver them to a fitter in London and will charge me £224 incl VAT and fitting on Friday.

I've no connection to these guys but so far can recommend them for being cheap and particularly easy to deal with.

Anyone used them before?

I have used them twice with no problems at all, you still need to make sure the garage fitting them is up to the job of
fitting them carefully on your alloys.

Is that the going rate for an 'N' rated tyre?

Yes - that's the N rated 265/35 ZR 19 Michelin Pilot Sport which most tyre retailers didn't even seem to know existed!

Fully agree. In my area they give a choice of 5 "" 6 fitting agents. It is then up to you to apply local knowledge to avoid the cowboys. For example, I caught one attempting to use a kitchen knife to take off wheel centres.

Sounds like great value Mark - how much were the tyres each then? Guessing that the refurb would be around £60, you probably got your tyres for 170 notes a pop!
