New tyres via Pirelli fuel card promotion

Hi all- I need to change the tyres on my 981 boxtser. Got a slow puncture on the near side rear tyre which has brought forward my plans to replace the rest of the tyres which I was due to do anyways. Thinking of purchasing said tyres by making use of the PCGB member benefit of getting a fuel card if I purchase Pirelli tyres via a participating dealership. I’ve been on the relevant website to locate my nearest participating dealership and they all seem to be in London. Surely this cant be right?! I’m in the Northamptonshire area so London would be a bit of a trek. Anyone else get their tyres through this offer and are base outside of London? And any recommendations on good garages in Northamptonshire? I usually use DW Porsche in Wellingborough and they are fab so will go back to them if this doesn’t work out.

Thanking you in advance!

Maz

Maz,

If you’re using the Pirelli site to try to find a Performance Centre I think that it’s next to useless! I’m sure that there’s a Centre either in or near Northampton. Maybe you should contact Pirelli direct for more information?

Jeff

Edit: STS Tyre Pros in Biggleswade are a PPC.

The Pirelli site referenced in Porsche Post is the epitome of absolute uselessness for finding any Pirelli Performance Centre. Try emailing their guy who I think is still responsible for their relationship with PCGB - Matt Bell. I have always found him very helpful. Matt.Bell@pirelli.com

Thanks Jeff! Glad I’m not the only one who found the Pirelli website useless- thought I was losing my mind at one point lol Good tip about calling Pirelli direct- but if their customer service is as shocking as their website then…. ???????

Thanks Brian. Will email Matt as suggested. I later noticed that I can go down the OPC route as well as Pirelli Centres so have reached out to Porsche Leicester and Silverstone and just waiting to hear back regarding quotes. Bet they will cost an arm and a leg but hoping the fuel card will bring their prices somewhat more in line with some of my local indies. Cheapest quote I’ve had so far is £947 for a full set supply and fit (20” PZ4).

Have a look in the For Sale section - I'm selling a pair of almost new (500 miles) 235/35/20 Pirelli P Zeros (DOT 17 21)

Drop me a PM if interested

Thanks

If you go down the retail route rather than mikeg's offer, my local Pirelli Performance Centre was happy to price match the lowest Internet offer I could find (Blackcircles I think) but then you also get the money back from Pirelli too. I couldn't find an OPC that would get anywhere near the Pirelli Performance Centre price.

And in my opinion, if your car has 20" wheels and is currently on N0 tyres, the N1 version gives a noticably more comfortable ride with better grip. You may find that N0 are still available (I haven't checked) but I would personally recommend N1. Different wheel sizes have been through different N ratings so these comments only apply to 20".

Maz,

I’ve just found a list of Centres and there are a couple in the Northants area:

Tyres Northampton (Northampton) and Tanvic Tyres (Corby).

Jeff

My car currently has N1s’ and I must say I am pretty happy with them so was going to go back to those. Glad you recommend them too ????

Hi All- quick update. Managed to get my car booked in at Tanvic Tyres (thanks again Jeff for the shout) for a very reasonable price of £862 for the full set. Add the fuel card and I save a pretty penny ?? #winning. Porsche Silverstone came back at £1080 so it was a no brainer really, even with the fuel gift card which I’m still not sure you can get if you go down the OPC route. Also emailed Matt from Pirelli (thanks Brian), who had suggested Northampton Tyres however it is a wee bit further from me than Tanvic, and fed back about the crappy website for good measure. Any-ho, I will share pics of my car’s new boots once they are on... ??
