New Tyres

Hi all,

Getting to the point I need to change the rear tyres on my 996TT. Surprisingly I couldn't find any threads regarding tyres in the forum although I am sure I have read something in the past.

Currently I have Pirellis all round on the standard alloys and looking to keep to Pirellis as haven't been to bad to be honest. Does anyone have any experience of buying tyres in and around the London area getting good deals? Currently I am getting a price of £206 per tyre for Pirelli P-Zero Rosso N5 from Elite Direct in Rainham.

Thanks

CB

I used to go to Elite all the time, but because of the time it takes to go there and wait, I stopped. I found another little tyre shop in Dartford 01322 274498 The last time I brought tyres from there (last year) I got the fronts (225/40/ZR 18) for £129.19 and the rears (295/30/ZR 18) for £223.19. They are the Bridgestone S-02A, which I prefer to the Pirellis as they seem to last a little longer and are quiter once bedded in.

Just checked yesterday prices around and found Event Mobile Tyres the cheapest, you can cal Guy Shankland 01491412453. and they go to your place and install them... for ConSport had the best offer Fernando

Thanks all. As a matter of process I did contact OPC who quoted me the Pirelli N5 for £310 and the N6 for £410 per tyre. The gentleman did say he would include the fitting cost in that - so nice of them. Surprisingly I have found Kwik Fit is well priced as well. If you actually pay online and buy multiple tyres they charge a lower amount, plus can chose where you have them fitted. They are charging £206 for Pirelli P-Zero Rosso Extra Load N5 tyres especially for Porsche when you buy two, and £193 when you buy 4 (no good as front are obviously a different size). It isn’t the obvious place to take your much dear Porsche, but I guess it depends on the staff at your local garage on the service. A friend took his Merc CLS AMG to Kwik Fit and got better service than he has got at times from Mercedes themselves and not a single mark on the wheels. I think if I try to save anymore off the tyres I will end up spending the savings on fuel driving around, so will probably resign to getting them from Kwik Fit. CB
