New Tyres

New member
Hi All, I may have found a second hand Targa that may solve the baby problem, at least until another one arrives anyway.

Both rear tyres are duff, I am insisting the existing owner replaces them in the deal.

If he does not though, can anyone suggest a local place to get them changed without scratching the wheels? I will go for the standard Mich Pilot Sports as fitted so they match all round. The fronts are fine 5mm!

Cheers,Joel.

it doesn't matter where you take your car to get tyres fitted unless you know and trust the people have a word with the manager and explain you are paranoid about having your rims scratched and you want to watch the guy who is fitting them, if he doesn't understand shop around till you find an good place.

Tire tech in Braintree, owns a Porker himself, nice guy to deal with and you can watch/chat to him to boot...

I find Stort Performance tyres in Bishops Stortford pretty good. Deal with performance cars all the time so they tend to be careful with yer rims (oo-err missus).

Joel, I have found Lancasters at Colchester extremely good on price and if they mess your rims up, they will do them properly, but touch wood, I have had no problem. Very friendly service as well. I suggest you contact Andrew Welsh, the service manager, mentioning that you are a PCGB member.

Thanks for your help guys. I now have the car, it had Micj Pilots on all round but they were out of stock for 3 weeks so have put Pirelli Pzero Rossos on the rear. I was hoping I would get matching all round but hey they are all gravy!
