Please have a look and give me any thoughts you have. There is still a bit if tweaking to do on it.

We hope to get UK, European and USA Turbo S cars registered on the site and in time hopefully the Register will grow and become a source of information for owners. [:)]

www.944silverrose.co.uk or www.944turbo-s.co.uk

There is a forum which is aimed more at technical help and a photo gallery of the cars so please join and add any Turbo S pictures you have [:D]

Nice work Martin. Personally speaking, I think you and a few other joiners in the last couple of years have really sparked a fresh vigour and enthusiasm on a few forums for 944s. Great stuff.

Agree with Steve, Martin is putting great efforts into the 944 world both with his re manufactured stuff and now a dedicated website for the Turbo S.

Having known Martin for a good few years and speaking to him on a daily basis he does go the full 100% with his hobby

Coming from the classic Ford world along with Martin, we both bought our 944's together on a day shopping trip , I have got to admit that after dozens of classic cars over the years I think I'm now a 944 lifer

Just need a 'project' Turbo S to keep me busy now ......

I think that the days of sensibly priced cars which need work have passed. Alasdair bought one for about £750 which needed sills. Not a great car chassis-wise, but no worse than many and with original panels I don't believe that its desirability would be affected unduly.

Unfortunately he dismantled it.

Agree Simon, it was a shame he took off all the goodies on the Silver Rose, but the car lives and will be back on the road in the coming months as the new owner who is a very good painter used a contact of his to get the sills fitted and sort any other tin worm issues. The shell is now mint and just waiting for a Drivers side wing then it's time to paint it.

Only thing is the new owner is going to paint the car a different colour (still a Porsche colour but not Silver Rose) and make it a high standard fast road car.

Agreed. It's been so refreshing for me that there's a new enthusiasm for all the 944s recently. [:)]

We seemed to go through a real downer a couple of years ago. This coincided with my car needing masses of work, and I must admit I was as negative as anyone about spending £2K on a service and MOT, year after year, on an S2 worth perhaps £3K, knowing I would need to spend many thousands more to get it up to a really good condition. Luxes were mostly sub-£1K cars on ebay, and really only scrappers, and that dragged all the values down to silly levels.

The loss of most of the really bad cars has led to the decent ones being valued more by their owners. Hopefully that's led to a more committed group, and it's great that we now have the Facebook groups as well as the PCGB and Tipec forums. What's a real shame is that Pistonheads has died down so much recently: I really only go there now to read Baz Hart's engine threads....[&o]

I really believe that 944's have turned the corner in terms of perception in many ways and are being appreciated to a degree that has not been around for quite some time.

The buzz about our cars here on the forum (and elsewhere) certainly reminds me of how it was when I first landed here back in the day.

Long may it continue ! [:)]

I remember viewing that car twice, however storage was (and remains) an issue for a project and so I've ended up with a Boxster instead.

I hope one day to get "my" Silver Rose lusted after all these years, the burgundy interior is fantastic.

Martin, keep up the good work [:)]

I registered my S n your site, but forgot to add the registration history.

I tried to register on the forum but it kept rejecting my password.....probably me (tried 6 digits and 7 digits)

I have tried to add a little to the FB thread, but I suspect that my intolerance of Americans comes across more than the positive words. Sorry.

Simon, good points and replies added, the problem with some is that if they see it written they think it must be true!!!

It's not just the Americans, everywhere people presume things are correct because it's on a Blog or Wikipedia etc. [:'(]

When Sarah bought my '44 Turbo for my birthday a few years ago, It was advertised as a "Turbo S". I don't know if it is or not
and, I don't really care coz' it's gonna be stripped out as a track day car [8D]. However, I would like to know, even if only to see
whether or not I have been lied to [8|]. How can I find out Martin?

.....and if it's not, then I will turn it into one by sticking a "S" sticker on the back! I like to join things [;)][:D].
