New wheels

I have a set of Fuch replicas that I had intended to use on another project but I was wondering if they would fit on the S4?

They are 17 x7.5 for the front with on offset of +35 (with 245/40/17 tyres on) and 17 x 9 for the rears with an offset of +16 (255/40/17).

Would they fit straight on the car or would anything need to be changed?

Hi, I was looking to change the wheels on my 928 and the best info I could find was here.
http://www.landsharkoz.com/forms/928wheels.pdf
Also try looking at the rennlist forum as this has been covered a couple of times.
If I remember correct the off sets you have are not enought for a 928. I am running 17" boxster rims and they seem fine (et55 on the front).
Hope this helps. .

I would agree that the offset is too low, especially at the front. I had a set of 928 wheels on the 2.7 944 for a while and I seem to remember them being 7x16 with approx 60mm offset.

The obvious thing to do as you already have them, would be just to try them.

As ssuggested, I fitted them and took it out for a quick spin. She looked superb but unfortunately the fronts fouled on lock and the rears touched the rear arch on the bumps. Back to the drawing board but, the Boxster ones sound like a good idea.

I've also got some 996 2 piece (19s?) split rims in the garage but I can't see then fitting if the Fuchs won't!

How would I work out which tyres would be best for the 996 wheels then, would it be a case of just going with the 'standard' tyres as recommended for the wheel originally?

When I brought my 928 it had a set of 18" 996 carrrera rims fitted. They looked great but the tyres had to be so thin to fit I found the ride horrible. If you hit a pot hole it just so uncomfortable. That was why I swapped for 17" rims a lot more comfortable.
I don't think many people would run 19" as the tyres would have to be too thin. All the info you need is in the link on my first post it covers tyre sizes, rim sizes the lot.
The main point is to check the front offset first as anything less than 55 supposedly makes the handling really bad. Mine is still a bit twitchy with the boxster rims but alot better than the 18" rims and not so bad as to be undrivable. Also on the forums I checked some people had problems with some rims hitting the brake calipers.
When I checked last year I was surprised how limited the choice of rims are for the 928.
