NEW WINDSCREEN NEEDED

Hi Guys,
just been out in the car for a blast in the sunshine and that dreaded noise on the windscreen and a crack!
Need some advice, is it advisable to use the opportunity while the glass is out to check/treat any corrosion issues which may be lurking under the rubber seal and how easy is it to get an original spec screen (tinted at the top and the radio aerial built in) Any advice or experiences would be very helpful.
Cheers Simon

If any corrosion is present it would be madness not to take the opportunity to treat it while the screen is out. There was a new screen on ebay recently for £100 - you might be lucky and find another. If yours is cracked, surely it's an insurance job? Choose your fitter carefully....

Hi

You could upgrade to a latter seal and screen from 964.This does away with the metal trim(which you can keep for retro fit if needed)
I did this some years ago when I had to replace mine and it has been problem free.At the time Autoglass did not charge any extra but check if you go ahead because you replace both screen and rubber. With the age of our cars new rubber would be a good idea anyhow to prevent leaks.
