New Wing Decal

Put this on today and still getting used to it, unfortunately there is a slight tear between the "u" and the "r" which shows up from some angles. TBH not sure if it was there before I applied the decal or not though dont think I tore it. Will see if can live with it !

Nice, especially on a black car.
I've been toying with the idea of fitting one but I'm not sure... might be a bit brash on a white car?

Hmmmn, I know Porsche fitted something similar to the early cars but I always thought it was naff.

It was fitted to some of the 'Silver Rose' cars - very 80s!![:D]

I thought it dated back to the 220 bhp models, a bit loud for me though.

I like it. Not usually a big fan of decals on cars but I think there is a bit of a comeback with these things like stripes over the top of cars, the whole mini thing and other decals you see on modern cars and with all things '80's coming back into vogue now I think it looks great.

My car came with one originally but had been removed so i refitted it, and i like it.
I have the build sheet for my car and the wing decal option was not deleted.
Suffolk 944 you are going to hate me but it is not fitted in the right position, it should follow the swage line in the wing and the "o" should finish apptox 75mm from the front swage line if that makes sense. [:-]

Hi Jon

I did not like to mention that either, but it is fitted too far back.

Is it an OPC bought graphic or aftermarket one?

Here is mine to give an idea of where it goes

I also have a tiny tiny tear in one of the sections which really bugs me []

Cheers

Lee

It was a standard fitment on the 1988 SEs. I took mine off with a heat gun, because Rose Silver is quite discreet and this didnt really suit it.

I had a horrible feeling when I put it on that it wasn't quite right position wise, was doing it from memory (clearly faulty) of another one I had seen. Its going to have to come off as the tear is really bugging me anyway. Its an aftermarket one courtesy of Mr Cannell's decal emporium. When I first put it on it did feel a bit Halfords but have gotten used to it and the silver on black works well for me. Will more than likely get another and this time plonk it on correctly.

As you know, I had this decal on mine and after thinking, I find it's too much on a white car.

If you go this route, on yours, a silver decal would be better (it matches with the wheels)

I'm from the 'less is more' brigade on stickering. Before I bought the mine I saw a turbo with it on and was... taken aback slightly. Since I got the 944 they offend me less but I still wouldn't (aside form the fact mines not a turbo ayway) Occasionally want to put a big yellow stripe down the bonnet of mine but the madness passes [:D]

Still, each to their own it'd be a sad world if we were all sheep.[8D]

Since it's already got a rear wing that gives it a Halford feel I think I'll leave it like that.

Well decal has now been removed and am having a think as to whether to get another one or not - least if I do next time it will be in the right position. [&:]

I must admit I think its a bit loud for my liking,I prefer something a bit more discreet. However its down to everybodys different tastes at the end of the day.

When refitting use lots of soapy water so that you can move it into the correct position, when happy dry off with a hairdryer.
I think they look Uber Cool and certainly not chav very period and just as Ferdinand intended !

Forgot to ay it was a standard item with the option of delete on Turbo S cars (silverose)

Does anyone have a photo of what the side Porsche/stripes along to door looks like (if you have Guards Red with a black sticker then great)?

I'm thinking of going for the 80's accessory look!

mine has one from new, but wasnt sure when i bought the car whether it was actually original fitment. I like it, but get sick of people winding me up about it, thinking I have stuck it on boy racer style. Its cool i reckon though
