New Years Day 2012

There are a few options available for those of you that wish to blow away the cobwebs and start 2012 in style.

[FONT=verdana,geneva"] New year's Day Rally 2012 at Stony Stratford.[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana,geneva"] http://www.vintagestony.co.uk[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana,geneva"] A gathering of classic and vintage cars. motorcycles and even boats last year at Stony Stratford. [FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana,geneva"] Vehicles assemble in various car parks around the town depending on age. See link for more details.[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana,geneva"] Usually bacon rolls, Soup Tea Coffee and Pub lunches available. Best to arrive by about 10:30 and the event is usually starting to finish by 2:30[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana,geneva"] This years Vintage Stony will also be a check point for the Pre 70's Classic Car Rally which will start at the Red Bull Racing Headquarters in Milton Keynes and finishing at Sywell Airport (see below)

[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana,geneva"] The First Run[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana,geneva"] http://www.mkccc.com/dates/TheFirstRun2012Letter.pdf[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana,geneva"] http://www.magicofmotoring.com/events.asp[FONT=verdana,geneva"] [FONT=verdana,geneva"] Cars are flagged off from Red Bull Racing in Milton Keynes at 10.30am, the route winds its way through Buckinghamshire countryside to a check point at the Stony Stratford Vintage Car Gathering (see above) then onto the finish at 12.00pm at the Art Deco setting of Sywell Aerodrome located in Northamptonshire

As well as participants cars on display at Sywell, the Aviation Museum will be open from 12.00 noon. Food and drink will be available in the Aviator Hotel where a challenging Murray Walker Pub Quiz will kick off at 1.30pm.

Finally a little further to the East on New Years day there is the informal classic car gathering on 'The Green' in the picturesque village of Barrington in Cambridgshire. Usually about a 100 cars, motorcycles and even micro light aircraft gather on the green. Lunch and refreshments are available at the Royal Oak but it does get quite busy.
