New Year's Day run

As I haven't stopped regretting not making the post-Xmas run into Wales, I thought we should try something else for New Year's Day, on the assumption that there'll be a few people like me who are planning on an early night the night before (fireworks permitting), and that the roads will be dead quiet (and less icy).

I'm planning to be at the Warwick Holiday Inn (and Porridge Pot), just off jnct 15 of the M40 (take the Warwick exit at the roundabout and it's just on the right) between 8.45 and 9am on New Year's Day, let me know if you're coming, or turn up on the day.

Open to route suggestions, but was thinking of heading a little further east, then down the Fosse Way and a loop round the Cotswolds

I was thinking of finishing up for lunchtime, but I'm open to suggestions on route and timings etc.

might be up for this. though Larrys spending any free time he has working on the 912 so might not want to take the time off.
so i won't promise to be there

Larrys sealed the underneath of the 912 and the wheels are now back on so if the weather is dry we'll take it out for this run tomorrow.

But, if we're not there by 8.55am don't wait for us.

WOW . great run down the M42 to meet you all, the roads were empty. wish i had remembered the camara.

sorry we didn't come on the run with you but, we felt not only would we struggle keeping up with you all, but we would also be arrested for waking all the cotswold villages up with all our beeping..[] (larry took the steering wheel apart to clean, put it back this morning and it now beeps the horn on any sharp bend) Hope you had a good day.

Nice to have met you this morning. We had an excellent run over to Stow-on-the-Wold where we grabbed some breakfast and then headed west for Evesham. John went North home and Mike and I headed home to Stratford / Warwick. Some spirited driving trying to stay with John's GT3, but all very enjoyable. Quiet roads and dry weather.

Look forward to meeting more of you on the 13th at the Old Royal Oak in Hockley Heath.

forgot how great that A44 is from stow to evesham, not a thing on the road, so great for reasonably spirited driving, dry too, great to meet everyone from that neck of the woods, and Helen/ Larry wise choice not coming with us, that little beauty would have struggled.
See you on the 13th around 8pm
Cheers
john

Miffed I didn't make it, didn't get in from work till 5.30, awoke at 10.00 and decided to go back to bed[]. Are some great roads around our way and the A44 is a treat.

Thanks for your company. I realised it's been a long time since I really gave the car a proper run (what with work and winter and everything). Now I remember why I bought it.
