New Year's Day - Stony Stratford

For those who don't get my regional emailed newsletters, please note that on New Year's Day there is a vintage and classic car gathering [:)]in the main market square of Stony Stratford from 11.00 am until around 3.00pm.

The organisers are looking for marshall to help with things such as parking on the day, so if you can help - even for an hour [8|]- let me know.

Was really good last year, despite a very cold/frosty start to the day[8D][:)]. Many vintage cars, dating back to 1920's and 30's arrived, plus a few more modern. This year, the later classics are invited and Porsches are more than welcome. The pub in the square also did great bacon butties and soup to combat the cold.

See you there.

We managed to do both Stony Stratford and the Charity event at Newport Pagnell although as spectators rather than active participants.

Highlights were the old wooden boat and a rather nice Triumph TR4A at Stony Stratford and the Paul Weller character with scooter and Murray Walker quiz at Newport Pagnell, along with some very impressive cars at both events.

Thanks for the 'heads up' on both events, which we would not have known about without this forum.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Happy New Year to everyone [:)]

I got along to the Stony event, and helped marshal the parking for the 'Classic' contingent in the public car park adjacent to the Square. Got a free bacon buttie and coffee for my trouble - and chance to chat to several owners. Had a great time[8D].

Hope everyone enjoyed their day, and weren't too hung over !!

See you at the Monthly Meeting on 9 Jan....
