Newbie - 912 and child seats question

Hello all,

I'm a total newbie to the forum who's just about to take the plunge and realise a long held dream of purchasing a 912.

However as with all things in life change has struck and it looks like we'll be having a new addittion to the family at the end of the year!

So my question is, is it possible to get decent rear child seats for a 912 or is that just about the most ridiculous idea ever and should I put the whole idea on the back burner until I'm older, fatter and richer and can afford several cars?

Any thoughts, opinions, experience or hard facts most appreciated.

many thanks,

Neil

Que Gavin as he has had a child seat in his car to hold his pack lunch in for track days..[:D]

No ... all I remember is once it's in leave it in there until they are about 14 cos it's a real pain to take it in and out all the time..

Welcome Neil!
Not a silly question at all, as Mark says I have one. Fairly easy to achieve, firstly you need a 3 point rear belt fitted and then find the right seat to fit the tight seat space we have.
There is a company that is always recommended called Quickfit in NW London that will do the whole thing for you, they did mine.
Quickfit
Lots have folk here have used them and they even offer (or used to) a bit of a discount to PCGB members.
Don't confuse them with the other Quickfit though.
If thats not convenient for you geographically then give them a bell and see what current seats fit and get a local seat belt company to do the belt, I can send you pics if you want.
Cheers
Gavin

me again.. just being nosey and saw your profile, there are quite a few of us 12'ers round the East End, in fact you missed a Curry night last night/morning (prob just as well) so maybe next time come along, lot's of anal designer types too so lot's to talk about! ;)

Gavin if you have some pics handy it would be great if you could email them to neil@orangutanstudio.com - that would be brilliant.
