just bought a 87 s, loads of history and mot, needs a bit of tlc on the bodywork.

fumes in the cabin with the window down, i see the forum suggests back seal. mt boot keeps opening so i guess i need to adjust the pins

speedo sometimes dropping to zero then back, read about the sender unit. can anyone tell me where it is?

the car seems to be idling rather high, anout 1300rpm. is the any commons problems which cause this?

the dashboard illumination lights are not working, any hows to's to replace the bulbs or is it just a fuse

also, and this will sound stupid...where is the bonnet release. i see the boot release but thats it. if the bonnet shares this, then it isnt working, how do i open the bonnet then?

thanks all in advance

Bonnet release is in the passenger footwell. The speedo sender is next to the nearside driveshaft output on the gearbox. On mine, removing and cleaning the connector which was covered in crap solved the problem.

thanks, someone had made a nice carpet cover for the bonnet release.

still idling high tho

also the sunroof don't work so whats the best place of attack? i can hera the motor running one way at least

Sunroof will be the planet gears stripped. Can normally be picked up on fleabay for a tenner a pair.
