Hi guys, new to the forum have been on Pistonheads so some of you may have seen me over there. I bought a 944 about 3 weeks ago now and i'm loving it! It needs a bit of tlc but its a working driving project. From what i've found out it is an early car, registered august 82. It doesnt have side rubbing strips, sunroof, power steering, front fogs, boot release. Done a few bits and pieces, a user on Pistonheads helped me change the clocks at the weekend as the odometer didnt work and also fix the passenger window. Really the main things that need doing are the seats replacing, the bonnet replacing as it has rusted through at the front, the front valance spraying and maybe some new shocks. Set me back £1350, some of you may have seen it on ebay

Anyways, the pics

Welcome to the mad house[:D]

Looks like a good enough buy for the money, sure you will enjoy it.

Tons of info on here for you, so I am sure you will soon have it sorted out.

That's fantastic mate i love it[8D] Never seen one that colour before. Brings back memories of my old lux. That's also the first one ive seen without fogs!! Looks like you've been lucky with the sills etc. Or are you clever with the pic taking like me. LOL.

Nah, the sills are actually very good. Have looked through the vent on the inside of the doors too and they look solid from that side as well. The only bit of rust on the sills I can see is on a small dink where it looks like a jack has slipped at some point

Same colour as my first Lux. It's a very strange shade of silver, isn't it? Got a blue tinge to it, I always thought.

Hi and welcome to the funny farm - that colour plus the dark wheels does look good. Muist say more I see of those early dashes the more I like them.

I think I actually prefer the early dash. I think to tidy up the interior I just need to replace the seats and get a new gearknob and gaiter. Was thinking about some of the half leather brown pinstripe ones if I can find them

Hi
Think the colour is Sapphire( blue), My earliest one back in 1983 was that shade. It is hard to tell from pictures but I have just looked at a photo of mine taken in 1993 and it looks close.Don't they drive great without all that wimpy power steering? They also didnt rust as badly as the later cars so you look to have scored a good un.

I looked up the colour code and its actually diamond silver metalic. Your right about the steering, you get a lot more feedback from a non pas car

Welcom that looks really nice, the colour of the body and wheel colour goes very well together and a very reasonable price too. No doubt it'll cost a few squid to get upto a nice condition but it'll be worth it in the end. 944s are truly fantastic cars and I don't regret buying mine whatsoever.
