Newbie Saying Hello!

New member
Hello all,

I thought I'd introduce myself, as I've been a member of the club for a couple of years, but haven't been very active thus far! Some cool smiley faces on here  [:-] [8|] .

I currently own a Cayman 2.7. I've had the car for 18 months and its been a fabulous experience so far. Before the Cayman I had a 986 Boxster which brought fun and joy in spades as well as doses of pain in short, sharp bursts.

I love sports cars, especially Porsches. Although I have only owned two Porsches thus far, Over the years I've have driven Cayman, Cayman S, Cayman 2.9 PDK Cayman 3.4S PDK, Boxster 2.5, 2.7, 3.2S, 911 C4S, Cayenne and Cayenne S. I have also been passenger in a 944, 928 and 968.

I have written reviews on most of these cars, originally posted on a Boxster forum of which I am also a member. They were well received, so I decided to put my reviews all together on one website. Not for profit I should add, purely in case any future owners are interested in what its like to live with these cars. I'm not sure what the stance is on links and don't want to be told off on my first 'real' post - can someone confirm and I'll post if I'm allowed for your perusal!

I haven't done any of the meets yet, largely owing to having too many hobbies and that pesky 'work' requirement getting in the way of my time. I did come to see the Club stand at the last few Pistonheads shows though and it was mighty impressive!!

I have also bought the document holder from the club shop - a great purchase if anyone hasn't got one yet!

I love the Porsche Post magazine and hope to contribute more frequently to this forum than I have done thus far!!I'd also be interested to understand how one goes about contributing to the magazine, if anyone has any hints or tips?

Paul, knocking about in Yorkshire....

Paul, welcome to participating in the region I hope we see you at some events, we have another good line up for this year.

If you want to contribute to Porsche Post/i] then you need to send any articles to publications@porscheclubgb.com. I would send them as a word document using a font like Arial 12 point or as plain text. Don't embed pictures in the document but include captions in the document where you want them to go and send the images separately. Make sure that they are of a decent quality, so 1-2MB in size. I wouldn't use any formatting as this will get re-done by the editors. I don't know what the word limit.

Hope that helps.
